The Schleich figurines are all modelled in finest detail and encourage children to play and learn at the same time. Even though dachshunds are very small they have great self-confidence.  Nevertheless they are very friendly and very patient dogs. In the past these brave animals were used as hunting dogs. Their long slender bodies were ideal for following badgers through their narrowly constructed tunnels. Dachshunds are very short. Their shoulder height is only about 35 cm.
